THE TRIPLE THREAT – Amory School District

Amory had such a big win 2 weeks ago over Nettleton. The motto for the game was “Give Em’ What They Want” and the Panthers did just that defeating the tigers with a score of 41-27. Starting WR & DB, James Spratt, received his second Player of the Week for the win against Nettleton. Spratt didn’t get to play with his team at the beginning of the season due to his foot injury, but he had a marvelous return against the Aberdeen bulldogs and has since been a great contribution to the panthers during the season. Spratt had 6 catches, 1 touchdown, and a total of 98 receiving yards against Nettleton. Juniors Jay Hampton and Braxton Griffin have also had a remarkable season. Jay has a total of 723 receiving yards, 29 catches, and a total of 11 touchdowns for the season so far. Braxton’s stats for the season so far is a total of 571 receiving yards, 45 catches, and a total of 6 touchdowns. Last week, they played against Booneville. I asked each of them how they felt about the game before the game started.

James: “I love this team. We’ve worked so hard this season, and I’m just ready to get out on the field to make history with my boys.”

Jay:”I feel good, and I’m hoping that we get that win tonight.”

Braxton:”If we play hard all night and do what we’ve been coached all week then we will be successful.”

These three are a phenomenal trio. Unfortunately, the Panthers lost against Booneville, but win, lose, or draw, these boys work hard together along with the rest of the team to better themselves for the next game. This week the Panthers travel to Belmont seeking to redeem themselves.

Juniors Jay Hampton, Braxton Griffin, and James Spratt get set for the next play.
