The ACT!

The ACT!

The Act is one of the most important tests you can ever take in your life. It is a standardized test used for college admissions in the United States. This test covers four academic areas: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. They each have different times and a different number of questions for each subject. For example, the English portion has 75 questions and you have 45 minutes to complete it. It’s best for you to take the ACT as many times as possible, so you will know what to expect the next time you take it. It’s also very important for you to score high on it. Colleges and universities use your ACT score, along with your GPA, and high school involvement to determine if they would like you to attend their college. The ACT is a big deal at Amory High School. The teachers there help and work with the students on many things that will be on the test. Every student at Amory High attends an ACT class period, which focuses on different subjects that appear on the ACT. This helps prepare students for what’s to be expected on the ACT. This year each Amory High School student who signed up to take the ACT was given a voucher. This voucher allowed the students to sign up and take the act for free with no expense. Every student there was and still will be able to take the ACT for free until the voucher is no longer available, so instead of worrying about the cost, all they have to worry about is scoring and doing well on the test.

A few tips on taking the ACT is to get rest, eat breakfast, stay at a good pace, stay focused, and answer all the questions. Yes, the ACT is important but scoring high on it is even more important. It can really benefit your life in many different ways.
