Starting a Club

By Brianna Leon, Prowl News

It all started with a thought. I was laying in bed one night thinking about how there must be other people out there who enjoy reading as much as I do. And then it hit me: why not just start a book club? I’ve always wanted to be in a book club but the high school didn’t have one, at least not yet.

“Hey, I think we should start a book club at school,” I texted my friend, Parker Ford, because I knew she liked reading as much, or even more, than I do. When I asked her how she felt about starting a book club, she responded very enthusiastically.

¨I felt super excited because I thought it would be a great way to meet people as well as we get to read and talk about books with other people.”

She immediately agreed with me and we started planning.

After some planning and preparation, our first book club meeting went by smoothly. At first, not many people came, which was totally alright because I was still excited that people even showed up, but with every meeting came more people! The book club was all I imagined it to be and more!

We would love for more people to join! If you are interested in joining the book club, we meet every Wednesday in the library from 3:30 to 4:30. If you love reading, this is the perfect club for you!
